LEARN TO DANCE, MAKE FRIENDS & HAVE FUN! Founded in 1998, Llangain Youth Ballet provides classical ballet training for youngsters between the ages of 3 and 18 through weekly classes in the memorial hall.
The School aims is to provide opportunities for performance, so that the dancers will gain confidence and have fun! The appreciation of all dance styles is promoted including the encouragement of expression and creativity. Although the emphasis is on enjoyment, children study the ballet syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance and are invited to take part in an (optional) examination or presentation class when they reach the required standard.
The Royal Academy of Dance ballet syllabus provides a foundation for pupils who wish to go on to study ballet to a vocational level as well as the majority of pupils who enjoy ballet as a great hobby. Principal Llinos McCarthy is a graduate teacher registered with the Academy, who is trained in theatre arts and has choreographed for youth and adult companies across West Wales.
Talented pupils achieved 100% success rate once again in summer 2017, and gained Merits and Distinctions in the RAD exams and solo performance awards held in Llangain.
