News from Llangain Community in Carmarthenshire.


Huge congratulations to William Davies of Penywern, Llangain who was selected Captain of the Wales Squad Under 19 in the annual Home Nations Championship in Belfast recently.  Well done Wales for coming Second in the tournament. 
William is a former pupil of Llangain Primary School and is presently, studying A Levels at Bro Myrddin Welsh Comprehensive School.  He is the son of Ieuan and Gwyneth Davies and a grandson to Ellis and Enor Davies, Pantyrynn.  Best wishes and good luck for the future.  

Memorial Hall Golden Celebrations (1964-2014)

Historical Exhibition
A sub-committee of the main Working Party is currently busy making arrangements towards the Exhibition which will be an integral part of the celebrations held on Saturday, 29th March and Thursday, 3rd April next year to mark the Golden Anniversary of the hall built in 1964.

In order to have a comprehensive coverage of the wide variety of events and activities held over the last half a century, members will be extremely grateful for any old photos and memorabilia from individuals and village organisations and societies. Items can be sent to any of the persons listed below either by mail or as email attachments or indeed in person to their homes. Alternately, members can pay a visit at a time and date mutually convenient to individuals. Also, if anyone is wondering that something might be of interest or would like to take part in this interesting local history project, they would be welcome to contact them to discuss it.

Any old photos that owners are concerned about can be computer scanned and returned promptly while those who wish to have any framed photos kept intact can inform members that they are available for display and will be forthcoming nearer the time.
